2018 Winter Art Classes
Drawing Birds: Saturday, February 3, 1:30 -3:30 pm, Prairie Building Auditorium at Pioneers Park Nature Center, Fee: $13.00
Are you a budding artist or would you like to learn how to better draw our winged friends? Learn the basics of drawing birds in pencil with instruction from artist Glenda Dietrich Moore. All supplies will be included for this art class. This program is designed for adults, youth and children in 3rd grade or older. No previous drawing experience is necessary. Beginning Watercolor Painting Workshops: The instructor will start at the very beginning to explain the unique, exciting properties of watercolor. There will be easy-to-follow demonstrations of simplified techniques and skills used in painting landscapes, plus ample time to practice painting so that students will be able to continue painting on their own following the workshop. Students who have little or no art experience are welcome; workshops are open to adults and to youth 3rd grade and up who are accompanied by an adult. Students purchasing supplies from the teacher get to take paints, brushes and extra paper home with them.
- At Southeast Community College Continuing Education Building, Lincoln, Saturday, March 10. 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For beginning watercolor students and those who want to review the basics. Class fee is $59, plus $24 for supplies, or bring your own. Lunch is on your own. Register via SCC.
- At The Coffee Roaster, 5022 Old Cheney Rd. Lincoln: workshop will be offered in June, 2018. Date will be announced later.
Supplies needed: A 9 x 12 inch tablet of 12-15 sheets of 140 lb. watercolor paper, such as Strathmore, a watercolor painting kit (Prang or Yarka), one or two round watercolor brushes, paper towels, and a water container. Or, supplies may be purchased from the instructor on the day of the class for an additional $24.
Painting Trees in Watercolor: At Southeast Community College Continuing Education Building, Lincoln, Saturday, March 17. 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Learn various techniques for painting trees and foliage with watercolor. Adults and children 4th grade and above at all skill levels are welcome; bring your own supplies. Register via SCC. Class fee is $29.
On-Going Winter 2018 Watercolor Weekly Classes: Build your skills in watercolor painting during this 6-week session of 2¼ hour long classes. These classes are designed for anyone who has already taken an introduction to watercolor painting class, including adults and youth 4th grade and older. Students need to provide their own supplies, and bring their own photographs or calendar pictures to work from in class (the instructor does have some photos). Each week will feature a demonstration by the instructor, focusing on what students want to learn. Classes will be held Let me know you are interested! and then times/day will be decided. Classes held at my home art studio at 5401 Franklin St., Lincoln (there are stairs and a friendly cat). Cost for the 6-week session is $85.00.

Private Lessons in watercolor painting or drawing: focus on what you would like to learn. Lessons are $35.00 for 90 minutes, scheduled at your convenience at Glenda’s home/art studio in Lincoln.
