2017 Watercolor Classes

Continuing Watercolor Students:  Build your skills in watercolor painting at these 2¼  hour long classes. These classes are designed for anyone who has already taken an introduction to watercolor painting class, including adults and youth 4th grade and older. Each class will concentrate on the subject matter listed. Students may sign up for as few or as many classes as they want. Classes will be held on the day indicated from 1:30 – 3:45 p.m. at my home art studio at 5401 Franklin St., Lincoln (there are stairs and a friendly cat). Cost per class is $16.00; students provide their own supplies.

Thursday, August 3         People–placing simple figures in a composition

Wednesday, August 9     Trees and foliage (a repeat of the June 28 class)

Beginning Watercolor Students:  For beginning watercolor students and those who want to review the basics, this one-day Beginning Watercolor Painting Workshop will be held at The Coffee Roaster 5022 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, Thursday, June 22,  9:30 am to 3:30 pm.  (The Wednesday, June 21, watercolor workshop is almost full; contact me to be put on a waiting list.)

Students who have little or no art experience are welcome; workshop is open to adults and to youth 4th grade and up who are accompanied by an adult. Class fee is $49.00. Lunch is on your own.

The instructor will start at the very beginning to explain the unique, exciting properties of watercolor. There will be easy-to-follow demonstrations of simplified techniques and skills used in painting landscapes. There will be ample time to practice painting and to receive feedback from the instructor so that students will be able to continue painting on their own following the workshop.

Supplies needed:  A 9 x 12 inch tablet of 12-15 sheets of 140 lb. watercolor paper, such as Strathmore, watercolor painting kit (Prang or Yarka), one or two watercolor brushes, paper towels, and a water container.  Or, supplies may be purchased from the instructor on the day of the class for an additional $22.

Private Lessons in watercolor painting or drawing: focus on what you would like to learn. Lessons are $35.00 for 90 minutes, scheduled at your convenience at Glenda’s home/art studio in Lincoln.
